Mobile Biomass Pyrolysis Plant to Convert Biomass (Agriculture Residue) to Biofuel
A Step Ahead in Alternative Fossil Fuels.
October 2014,
Shirke Energy, an Indian energy firm active in the biomass field, established a joint venture with the Dutch firm Nettenergy BV for its Pyroflash technology. Nettenergy’s Pyroflash technology will convert Biomass into liquid fuels. This association establishes marketing and licensing arrangements for Pyroflash Technology.
“Abundantly available biomass needs to be transformed into liquid forms. Pellets and briquettes are available as alternatives. Considering the volume of Biomass and the transportation costs involved with it, the conversion of Biomass to BioFuel is a more lucrative option. Based on this technology, we estimate $10 million in business in the next 3–4 years.“ Says Dr. Abhijeet Shirke, MD, Shirke Energy.
Mobile Biomass Pyrolysis Plant
”We consider Asia and Africa to be significant markets. We’ll set up plants in both Asia and the continent of Africa.” Rob Vasbinder, MD, Nettenergy, was happy that his company’s efforts paid off. “ It takes a lot of effort, starting from the concept until framing it as a successful model. Pyroflash technology can deliver biooil, wood char, and wood gas within a few moments of processing. Wood gas can be further used for power generation, which makes the mobile biomass pyrolysis plant self-sufficient in energy; no diesel or electricity is required. The plant offers extra power, which can be further distributed to the power grid.“
“The Pyroflash technique is exceptional in that it produces dry Bio-oil (just 3% water, 24 MJ/kg), is scalable, and benefits from being mobile. It will significantly reduce the cost of biomass operations, making it an attractive business model.” Aniruddha Shirke, CEO, Shirke Energy, emphasises the establishment of a biomass supply chain. “We worked hard on the biomass supply chain establishment, which is an integral part of the biomass industry. The conversion of Biomass into Biofuels will open new opportunities for farmers. Innovative indigenous energy crops prove reliable biomass sources. “
“Governments and businesses using biomass who want to create jobs and secure their fuel supply can use our tailored solutions. A special invitation to investors to come forward for good, long-term returns.”
